The World of Business Course

In collaboration with the W.W. Reynolds Foundation, MBA Research is developing a new one-semester business economics course for high school students, to be available in the spring of 2027.

Why Teach World of Business?

  • World of Business is a one-semester course that utilizes game- and project-based learning to enhance engagement, foster critical thinking, and deepen students’ understanding of real-world business concepts.
  • Students tackle multiple exciting business projects throughout the semester.
  • The discussion-based course explores foundational theories, economists, and institutions, and encourages students to think about the domestic and global economy.

Innovative Interactive Business Economics Course

  • The course is designed specifically for high school students (grades 9-12).
  • It is based on a postsecondary course taught at the University of Colorado Boulder, Leeds School of Business.
  • The single-semester curriculum is organized into seven units that include games, projects, student readings, glossaries, activities, assessments, discussion questions, teacher tips, PowerPoint presentations, and supporting links.

World of Business Pilot Program

The development of the course relies heavily on the support of our World of Business pilot teachers. In April 2025, educators received training to pilot the course in their classrooms. During the training, teachers engaged in various course activities, explored project elements, and offered valuable feedback to improve classroom effectiveness.
