AI Resources for the Classroom

Help Your Students Be Future-Ready.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has quickly become an essential component of countless institutions, industries, and communities. As its roles and capabilities continue to grow, so too does the need for AI education in the classroom.

A foundational knowledge of AI will help provide students with the essential skills needed to thrive in the digital age. But beyond technical skills, an early AI education can prepare students for the myriad of pressing ethical and philosophical questions of AI in business.

The vast possibilities—both constructive and disruptive—of artificial intelligence will pose complicated questions and create difficult dilemmas for our next generation of professionals. That’s why it’s never too early for students to explore the complex world of AI.

MBA Research & Curriculum Center offers several resources—including Action Briefs and lesson modules—for teaching AI in the classroom. Check them out today to provide your students with the best AI-education experience!

Defining the Basics

Artificial Intelligence (AI): Technology that mimics or surpasses human intelligence

Generative AI: Any artificial intelligence capable of producing its own content, such as text and images

Large-Language Models: Massive machine learning algorithms that can understand and generate text or other content

Training Data: Data used to teach machine learning models, such as AI, how to perform a specific function

Chatbot: A type of artificial intelligence that simulates conversations with users

AI Hallucination: An occurrence where a generative AI provides inaccurate information or nonsensical responses to a prompt

Action Briefs

Our Action Briefs are where we highlight business trends, review their impact on the workplace, and make suggestions for integrating them into the classroom. Action Briefs allow students and teachers to dive deeper into the most pressing and relevant topics in today’s business environment.

Lesson Modules

A Learning Activity Package (LAP) is a comprehensive, ready-to-use lesson plan designed to help make your preparation easy, fast, and relevant. LAP modules support and provide instruction for an industry-validated performance indicator. They focus on developing leadership skills and a positive, career-oriented attitude, as well as both technical and academic performance.

Each LAP contains the following materials:

  • Informative, engaging student narrative
  • Learning goals to guide student focus
  • Individual and group activities
  • Ready-to-use assessments
  • Customizable discussion guides
  • Editable PowerPoint presentations
  • Videos and links to extend instruction

Teacher Tips

If you’re interested in integrating AI in the classroom, consider the following advice for planning and implementing lessons:

  • Start small (one LAP, Action Brief, etc.) until you feel more comfortable, then explore other options.
    • Start even smaller! Ask students to respond to one of the discussion questions in an Action Brief or try their hand at an AI-related activity from a LAP.
  • Introduce students to basic AI concepts or principles with fun games like Quick, Draw! or engaging videos like How AIs, like ChatGPT, Learn.
  • Encourage student-led learning by allowing the class to experiment with AI (like ChatGPT or Khanmigo) themselves.
  • To better foster discussions of the applications of AI, connect AI-centered curriculum to other core subjects (e.g., math, science, language arts).
  • Don’t shy away from demonstrating and discussing the limitations and challenges of the current AI landscape (AI hallucinations, plagiarism, copyright implications, etc.). Ask students how they think organizations should grapple with these issues.
