Graphic Designer Position – Part Time
Small, nonprofit, fast-paced educational publishing company looking for a graphic designer to work in our innovative, supportive, flexible, high-performing environment. Position starts in our office but may be hybrid-remote as work progresses.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, from the design concept phase through completion of a project.
- Review design briefs when available and identify requirements.
- Produce both instructional materials and promotional materials in print and digital formats. Examples include: Lesson packages, flyers and brochures, logos, advertisements, and social media posts, newsletters, annual reports, exhibit/conference materials (e.g., signs, table runners, banners)
- Examine designs for errors before printing or publishing.
- Manage multiple deadlines to send in-progress and final art files to staff, printer, etc.
- Maintain assets and files in an organized manner.
- Maintain knowledge of contemporary graphic design techniques and technology.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
Associates or BA in graphic design, visual communications, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience)
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in graphic design
Technology:
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (Office 365)
Bonus:
- Experience with Canva
- Experience with Canvas
Technical Skills/Knowledge
Essential:
- Creative Design Skills
- Keen eye for visual composition, aesthetics, and details
- Excellent typography skills
- Excellent skills in illustration, photo editing, and layout software
- Advanced print design skills
- Proven ability to produce various materials in both print and digital formats (access to portfolio required)

Other:
Experience and knowledge in producing production-ready files for both print and digital applications.
