High School of Business TAC Recognition: Jason, Pat, and Bonnie

The High School of Business™ (HSB) Teacher Advisory Committee (TAC) was established to provide a voice for our HSB teachers across the country. As the program grows, we believe it’s important to assemble a group of experienced HSB teachers to collaborate on program support and improvements. These teachers can also assist with presentations and events as needed.

This week, we’re highlighting two outstanding TAC members. Join us in welcoming Jason Dinter and Fielding Patrick (Pat) Hambright. We appreciate your service and dedication to the committee and the HSB program!

Get to know more about Jason and Pat below:

Jason Dinter is an experienced business educator and industry practitioner who brings more than 25 years of corporate leadership into the classroom. His professional background includes project management, strategic planning, and large-scale systems implementation across industries such as financial services, telecommunications, defense, and satellite broadcasting. He has also served as a strategic advisor to the Chief Information Officer of the U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon.

Jason currently teaches at Riviera Preparatory School, where he has spent the past five years building and implementing the High School of Business program. Under his leadership, students have engaged in authentic, project-based experiences that have generated over $50,000 in student-driven business sales through real-world ventures and applied learning projects. As a DECA advisor, he has also guided students to success at the state level, including Top 10 placements in Florida within just the program’s second year.

In addition to his work in secondary education, Jason serves as an adjunct faculty member at both George Mason University and Florida International University. At the university level, he teaches business and professional coursework grounded in real-world applications, including executive and professional education focused on strategic thinking, artificial intelligence, change management, problem-solving, and project management. His teaching philosophy centers on a “professor of practice” approach—bridging industry experience with instruction to ensure students develop practical, transferable skills.

Jason is a strong advocate of project-based learning and believes students learn best when they actively apply concepts to real-world challenges. He is passionate about helping students build confidence through authentic work, while also supporting fellow educators in creating meaningful, engaging classroom experiences that mirror today’s business environment.

Fielding Patrick (Pat) Hambright has been a Business Management and Marketing teacher at the Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology in Reno, Nevada since 2016.  As a High School of Business instructor and an FBLA Advisor at AACT, his students have routinely scored in the top 10 percentile on their HSB EOCs, compiled a 90 percent pass rate on their Nevada CTE exams, and won dozens of State Championships in their FBLA competitions.

In 2022, his AACT HSB students were chosen to help pilot global competitions for the MIT Solved and Intuit Social Innovation Challenges.  Their successes led to his being named the Teacher of the Year (July 2023) by the Nevada Association of Career and Technical Education.  Pat is a strong proponent of both project-based learning and simulated workplace, and his students have had great success collaborating with other CTE programs to create retail and fundraising projects to enhance existing funding sources.  He graduated from Colorado Mesa University and earned his Professional Certificate in Secondary Education from the University of Nevada.  His Business and Industry background comes from almost 3 decades in Broadcast Management in Colorado, California, and Nevada.
