Announcing Keynote Speaker for High School Ethics Summit

We’re excited to announce the keynote speaker for our High School Ethics Summit in Denver, CO, next month: Richard Martinez, Jr., President and CEO, Young Americans Bank and Center for Financial Education.

Rich’s experience with ethics in business and finance and his familiarity with the Daniels Fund ethical principles will set the stage for this day of ethics learning and integration with FBLA students and advisers. 

As President and CEO of Young Americans, Rich is responsible for managing and ensuring the success of Young Americans Bank and the nonprofit programs of Young Americans Center for Financial Education. 

Prior to becoming president in 2007, Rich served as Senior Vice President and CFO, managing the bank’s operations, regulatory compliance functions and investment portfolios, along with the information systems and technology functions for the organization. He joined the bank in 1999 after serving as a bank examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Denver Branch. Rich holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Real Estate from CSU and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Regis University. 

Rich was appointed by Governor Ritter to serve on the State of Colorado Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education in 2010, and was elected Chairman of the Board in 2014. He was also appointed by Governor Hickenlooper to serve on the Colorado State Banking Board in 2011, and was elected Chairman of the Board in 2014.

Rich also serves on the University of Denver – Bridge Project scholarship committee and the University of Denver – Latino Leadership Institute Board of Directors. He was also appointed and served on the CollegeInvest board of directors and is a past member of the Colorado Nonprofit Association Board of Directors. 


High School Ethics Summit: Partnering with Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), MBA Research is facilitating Ethics All the Way: High School Ethics Summit as part of FBLA’s National Fall Leadership Conference. During our full-day track of ethics sessions, students will meet, hear from, and interact with business executives as they learn about ethical dilemmas in the work world and develop their own toolkits for resolving ethical dilemmas.
