Dallas-Area Business Executives to Spend the Day Helping Students from Across the Country Learn About Ethics in the Workplace

High School Ethical Leadership Summit: Where Student Leaders Meet Business Leaders

MBA Research & Curriculum Center is pleased to hold the High School Ethical Leadership Summit: Where Student Leaders Meet Business Leaders on Friday, November 17, 2023, 9:15−11:45 a.m., in Dallas, Texas. This event is being held in partnership with Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. (FBLA) as part of their National Fall Leadership Conference at the Hilton Anatole, 2201 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX, 75207.

The purpose of the summit is to provide an opportunity for high school students from across the country to learn more about ethics in the workplace. There will be a panel discussion with local business and industry professionals, immersive activities in ethical leadership and ethical decision-making, time for student Q&A, and opportunities to demonstrate proof of learning. Students who attend and test their ethics knowledge and skills for the event will be eligible for a business ethics summit badge.

At the heart of the event are the eight ethical principles outlined by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative: Integrity, Trust, Accountability, Transparency, Fairness, Respect, Rule of Law, and Viability.

Panelists will include Mitchell Parker, Associate Director – Investments, Net Lease Development; Jamie Son, Director of Talent Acquisition, Lennox International; Jasmine Thurston, Federal HR Consultant, CPS HR Consulting; Jennifer Davis, Chief People Officer, Rightsline; and other local business leaders.

Sponsored by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative High School Program, the event is designed to give high school students direct interaction with business professionals while learning more about the knowledge and skills needed to address ethical dilemmas in their future careers.

“This summit takes ethics from a concept in a textbook and ensures that our students are learning a real-world skill that is core to our mission of developing community-minded business leaders,” FBLA President & CEO Alexander T. Graham said.

“We’re thrilled to be holding our second High School Ethics Summit in partnership with FBLA and third summit overall,” said Holly Atha, MBA Research President & CEO. “We’re looking forward to immersing students in the importance of ethical principles in academic, social, and professional settings, and providing an opportunity for students to learn directly from business leaders about what ethical leadership can look like in the workplace.”
