Now Hiring: Business Engagement Manager

MBA Research is a highly regarded national organization serving educators in middle schools, high schools, and community/technical colleges. We are a not-for-profit (501(c)(3)) organization established in 1971 and operated by a consortium of 25+ state education departments.

Job Summary:

As the Business Engagement Manager, you will report to the CEO and work with key staff to plan and execute business engagement efforts across the organization to produce part of the research necessary to inform National Business Administration Standards and related initiatives. In addition, you will be recruiting and growing a network of executive advisory members for focus groups and survey collection.

Duties/responsibilities include:

Recruitment & Networking

  • Coordinate, manage, and lead a national recruitment plan to target business professionals in the fields of business management, finance, marketing, and hospitality management to become industry partners in research.
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with existing members to grow our business professional network.
  • Plan and conduct quarterly meetings with Business Advisory Committee.
  • Institute recruitment strategies and develop business engagement recognition system to increase survey and focus group participation.
  • Grow business relationships and foster communication with members, businesses, and business/education advisory groups.

Research & Analysis

  • Conduct monthly survey process for primary research.
  • Build connections and analyze data to understand industry trends and to inform research standards.
  • Work with focus groups to develop professional reports on research findings for delivery to member state partners.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of trends and emerging issues impacting business on a state and national level.

Event Planning

  • Plan, manage, and execute offsite group meeting preparation and logistics efforts.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills for professional correspondence with the business community.
  • Create and facilitate presentations for offsite business focus groups.
  • Recruit and attend to business speakers for annual conference or business participants for focus groups.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop strategies for CRM to align with overall company goals and objectives as they relate to business engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee the collection, organization, and maintenance of business engagement data within the CRM platform to ensure accuracy, completeness, and actionable reporting.
  • Develop strategies for integrating data from social media, website into CRM system to create comprehensive business professional profiles.
  • Manage and refine process for collecting research feedback and utilize the data to inform curriculum standards and CRM strategies and processes.
  • Work with in-house team to ensure proper utilization of CRM system as it relates to business engagement.
  • Evaluate internal opportunities and long-term usage of platform to accommodate the growth and needs of business engagement.

Marketing & Communications

  • Conduct marketing and communication outreach, including monthly email newsletter, recruitment letters, emails, phone calls, and engagement appreciation.
  • Participate in business engagement marketing strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with Marketing staff to initiate and maintain business engagement growth with marketing collateral—flyers, letters, social media posts, web pages, and organization’s LinkedIn company page.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development, volunteer recruitment, marketing, non-profit management, or related field.
  • Experience with CRM, email marketing, and online survey forms platforms.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills—uses the proper verbal and written communication methods.
  • Ability to analyze data from Excel reports, write, and create reports.
  • Management of data analysis, developing and reporting of Key Performance Indicators and ROI.
  • High-level proficiency MS Office Suite – (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Consultative—bringing the right people into the decision-making process.
  • Handles project complexity and prioritizes competing demands effectively.
  • Additional responsibilities commensurate with skills, interest, and changing company needs. Position includes occasional travel.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience working in career technical education industry a plus.
  • Technology skills working with the following programs: Neon, Mailchimp, Survey Monkey, Zoom, LinkedIn Recruiter, Office 365, and other collaborative tools.

Salary: $42,000-$48,000

Schedule:

Monday to Friday. This position could become a hybrid working arrangement of about 2-3 days per week in Columbus, OH. Candidates must reside within commutable distance of that location. The typical schedule will be M-F 9a-6p with some flexibility required for weekend events or occasional travel.
