As a member of the MBA Coalition the Society will become a recognized sponsor of the national Business Administration Standards and of various assessments and credentials being developed by MBA Research. Individual members of the Society will be part of the national MBA Executive Advisory Network that is a key element of our ongoing curriculum validation processes for business and marketing education.
Members of the CPCU Society are varied and include underwriters, claims agents, and agents/brokers from a wide range of insurance companies and local agencies. According to its various reports, the Society was founded in 1944 and through continuing education and volunteer leadership opportunities, is dedicated to meeting the career development needs of its diverse membership so that they may serve others in a competent and ethical manner.
A Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) is an insurance professional who has earned the CPCU designation; the designation is conferred by The Institutes of the Society. CPCUs are considered to be property-casualty insurance subject matter experts. In order to earn this prestigious designation, insurance professionals must meet certain requirements in the following areas: education (eight national exams on topics including insurance law, accounting, risk management, and ethics), ethics, and professional experience.
On behalf of business and marketing educators nationwide, MBA Research welcomes the Society and anticipates a partnership that will enhance the community service and professional opportunities of these insurance specialists as they share their expertise and experience to help further the teaching of critical business concepts and skills in both high school and college environments. Welcome CPCU Society! (January 17, 2014)
